Since 1953, the Georgia Development Authority (GDA) has provided an alternative source of credit for Georgia farmers, ranchers, and agribusinesses.

Qualified loan purposes include purchase of farm property, irrigation equipment, machinery, well installation, building and repairing farm buildings, establishing beef/dairy/ swine herds, refinance debts, and education of children. Loans are made to full time as well as part-time farmers. Loans are real estate secured, and repayment plans include fixed or adjustable rates with terms from 5-30 years.
